Usually, I pick up a burrito or a pizza on fridays, but since DH has Thursdays and Fridays off, it's his turn to cook.
He cooked up a pork roast in the crock pot with carrots and taters. He also cooked some pene type noodles for no apparent reason?!?!? No extra noodles in my life! LOL
It was very good. actually!
The kitchen wasn't even trashed! LOL |

We don't usually go out, too expensive in our semi-layoff state!
I can't wait till our big trip back east for a nephew's graduation from Annapolis. We'll be in NYC for a week and DC for a week. First time back East for both of us since we were little kids!
Any recomendations for eating out, preferably on the cheap, but nice places also?
Also, what is a "must have" on the East coast? NY style pizza, Philly steak sandwiches......... anything else?
Sorry, this should be a different post. |

Not too many places in Annapolis that I would consider on the cheap. There are some fantastic seafood restuarants there. My favorite is the Chart House. You're going at a great time. The area will be in full bloom and the weather hopefully won't be too hot.
Have a great time though, there are many places to go and see. This area is between Baltimore and Wasington DC and that could fil your days for months. Take a day and walk the Inner Harbor.

Whenever we visit Annapolis or happen to drive through, we always have lunch or dinner at Buddy's Crab and Ribs. It's right on the corner across from the marina on the second floor with great views of the square. Loud at times but great for fresh fish and cold beer and a lot of people watching. It's especially fun to go to off season. http://www.buddysonline.com/
And if you are thinking of purchasing some wine, I highly recommend you check out Mills Fine Wine shop across the street. http://www.millswine.com/ |

| Thanks for the info. We'll only be in Annapolis for a day or so and will probably dine with the relatives. We'll be more in the DC and Manhatten areas. NT |

OK, in DC we'll be in the Capitol Hill area. 1300 block of Independence Ave, and in NYC we'll be in the Turtle Bay area. Midtown east, 50th and 3rd.
We'll wine and dine probably only 1 or 2 nights in each place, then find a couple of small places and eat in to conserve $ the rest of the time. Probably eat lunch out cause a lot of places don't let you bring bags (or coolers!) into the buildings.
We're playing it by ear!
Thanks for all the info! Nancy |
