It has started! I picked my first zuk today. I haven't had any for 3 years due to some bug, but my plants look healthy!
I'm drying tons of herbs as gifts cause my herb bed is overflowing! The basil is almost as tall as the tomatoes. Time to start making pesto.
I added a couple more beds this year. A new tomato bed, an asparagus bed and a pepper/eggplant bed. Time to expand for fruit trees! LOL NT |

| Oooh--I like the idea of the asparagus bed. Since this is our garden's maiden voyage, we stayed small this year. Hopefully things will go well and we'll expand for next year! |

You know, I hope that an asparagus bed is there for good! I've heard up to 30 years! You don't usually get a harvest for 2-3 years when starting out.
We bought 2 YO crowns, so hopefully we can harvest some next spring.
This year we went ahead and planted squash in that bed cause it's the first year and I couldn't stand seeing a garden bed sitting there empty except for a few wimpy asparagus fronds! LOL
Be careful, it's (gardening) addictive!!! LOL |
