How to use this Conversion Calculator

Most of my recipes are in American standard measurements like ounces, pounds, cups,
tablespoons, etc. but if you want to convert my recipes into metric measurement, this
converter will help.

This Conversion Calculator is from Google and can be used to convert just about anything.
Here's what to do:

  • Type in the measurement you want to convert.
  • Then type "in"
  • Finish by typing in the measurement you would like to convert to

For example:

  • 1 cup in ml
  • 400 F in C Fahrenheit to Celsius
  • 2 teaspoons in ml

An Old Fashion Cooking Conversion Table

1 pinch = 1 dash = Less than 1/8 teaspoon
1 dash (liquid) = a few drops
1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons = 1/2 ounce
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon = 1/2 ounce
4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup = 2 ounces
8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup = 4 ounces
16 tablespoons = 1 cup = 8 ounces
1 cup = 8 ounces = 1/2 pound
1/3 cup = 5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon
16 ounces = 1 pint = 1 pound
16 cups = 8 pints = 4 quarts = 1 gallon
8 quarts (dry) = 1 peck = 1/4 bushel
4 peck (dry) = 1 bushel
1 kilogram = approximately 2 pounds

Your calculator brings up Imperial units of measure in both drop downs. I tried it in Chrome and IE.

Thanks for the conversion table, just moved to Europe from U.S. having to convert all sorts of measurements. This table works great. Added to top of my favorite coversion list and am able to delete several others.

The chart is helpful, however, the calculator doesn't work.

Also, the capchas are HORRIBLE. Impossible to read. It has taken at least three tries to get them right.

Q, not sure why it is not working for you, I just tested it and it worked fine for me. The Capchas are horrible but until I can figure out how to get Akismet to work with Joomla, I'm not sure what else to do. - RG

Would you pin your conversion chart to Pinterest so I can post it? It is very good. Will it work if it is repinned?

Sorry Jill, it's not a pin but please let your friends know where they can find it. -- RG
