Cooking With My Dad
Here's my tribute to my dad, who loved to cook and experiment with ingredients.
I’m putting this cartoon up to acknowledge my dad, who has been ill and just came out of the hospital. My father loves to cook, and one of the things I remember about his cooking growing up is that he added too much wine to whatever he was making. He thought if a bit of wine added flavor to the stew or sauce, a lot of wine would make it even better.
Thank you, Dad, for all those wonderful meals, even if they didn’t always turn out the way you wanted them to.
Concept
In this lighthearted cartoon, we join the Reluctant Gourmet and his dad as they tackle a new recipe in the kitchen. The dish calls for just a cup of wine, but things quickly go off course when Dad, a little too enthusiastic about the cooking process, decides that a whole bottle would do the trick instead.
A hilarious culinary adventure follows as the Reluctant Gourmet tries to keep the meal on track. At the same time, his father’s generous pour threatens to turn the dish into a boozy disaster. Will their creation be a gourmet masterpiece or a recipe for chaos?
